Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1  (10.5 ounce)  can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions
 

  • Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) to preheat.
  • Place a large skillet on medium-high heat. Brown the ground beef, stirring frequently, for 5 to 7 minutes until fully cooked and crumbly. Drain the excess fat and discard it.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the condensed soup, milk, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. In a 2-quart baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, soup mixture, and cooked ground beef, repeating the layers.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until the potatoes are tender. Sprinkle the melted Cheddar cheese on top and return to the oven until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
