Ingredients

  • 1 (2 pound) large fresh lobster
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, or to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 (8 ounce) package dried spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon  butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil and carefully add the lobster. Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, or until the lobster shells turn a vibrant red, signaling it's fully cooked.
  • Once the lobster begins cooking, melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking gently to release their flavors without allowing them to brown. Stir occasionally for a fragrant, softened mixture.
  • Once the lobster is done cooking, transfer it to a cutting board and carefully slice it in half lengthwise with a large knife. Place the lobster halves, meaty side down, into the skillet with the onion and garlic. Sauté for about 3 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  • Bring a separate pot of water to a boil, seasoning it with a pinch of salt. Add the spaghetti and cook for about 8 minutes, or until tender. For a quicker option, you can cook the pasta in the lobster water, simply adding salt, since it's already boiling.
  • Add the tomatoes to the skillet and increase the heat to high, bringing the mixture to a boil. Stir in olive oil, salt, pepper, and cinnamon, and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently. Gradually pour in the cream, continuing to stir until the sauce turns a beautiful pink. Lower the heat to medium-low and keep the sauce warm, stirring occasionally, while the pasta finishes cooking.
  • Drain the spaghetti and transfer it to a large serving plate. Toss in the remaining butter and garlic. Pour the tomato sauce over the pasta and place the lobster halves in the center. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately for a stunning dish.
