Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce
  • 2 carrots, sliced thin
  • 4 ounces fresh mushrooms
  • 1 (10 ounce) package frozen okra, thawed and sliced
  • ¼ cup uncooked wild rice
  • 1 skinless, boneless chicken breast half – cut into cubes
  • cups uncooked rotini pasta
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced

Instructions
 

  • Bring the water to a boil, then season with garlic powder and hot pepper sauce. Add the sliced carrots and mushrooms, and simmer for about 5 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
  • Stir in the okra, wild rice, and chicken. Lower the heat to a simmer and let the soup cook for 3 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the ingredients to become tender.
  • Add the pasta and let it cook for 10 minutes, allowing it to soften and absorb the rich flavors of the soup. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then serve the soup hot, topped with fresh green onions for a burst of color and flavor.
